INTRODUCTION TO THE
GENEALOGY OF JESUS
This is a genealogy of Jesus, who created the world and all that is in it. Jesus came from heaven to earth to pay the penalty for sin and to redeem mankind from the coming judgment. In order to do this He had to come as a human soul, born of a human mother but conceived by the Holy Spirit.
The dating system used in this genealogy starts with the creation of Adam and Eve as year zero. We believe the Bible is an accurate history of God's dealing with mankind. Biblical chronology is not easy to follow but E.W. Faulstich and others have compared the Biblical chronology with those of many other nations and have developed a chronology that is reliable. AGE OF THE EARTH:
Many will question, "Is not the earth billions of years old? Have not people been on this earth much longer than the Bible allows?" It is not the purpose of this web page to argue the date of the earth but there are facts that show the earth is much younger than millions of years old.
First: The methods for dating the age of the earth have very serious flaws and are not at all accurate. They cannot be trusted.
Second: The moon is slowly moving away from the earth. If the earth was million years old the moon would be much further away. Because it is close to the earth is proof that the earth is not old.
Third: The oceans do not have enough salt in them and this lack of salt is proof that the earth is not very old.
Fourth: The magnetic field around the earth is slowly decreasing. If the earth was old this field would be very weak by now. Its strength is proof that the earth is young.
These facts and others must be answered by those who claim the earth is million and billions of years old. To argue that the earth is old is an argument not based on facts.
THE WORLD WIDE FLOOD:
The Bible record tells of a flood that completely destroyed civilization on earth. Many claim it did not happen. But, Christian scientist are making discovery after discovery that prove that this earth did suffer a tremendous calamity. The surface of earth was completely torn up and redeposited in large sheets of sand, mud, ash and lava which hardened into the large sedimentary beds we now see on the earth.
The claim that these beds developed over long periods of time is just not true. No such beds are being formed on earth today. When Mount St. Helen erupted it formed large beds of sedimentary rock laid down in layers as we see in all the rocks today. This happened in just a few hours.
Some scientist claim that there were large floods on Mars, but these same scientist cannot see the overwhelming evidence for a flood on earth. The evidence is there for those willing to see and believe.
EVOLUTION:
Evolution claims that the more complex life forms developed from the simple ones. They claim that as new generations are born, small changes take place until a new species of life develops. For example, an ameba through many generations gradually changes into a worm which over many more generations becomes a caterpillar. But it is easy to prove that this is impossible.
Butterflies prove evolution is impossible. For how can a caterpillar through the process of evolution go to sleep and during its nap change into a butterfly? Insects go through this process of hatching from an egg, growing for a period of time, taking a nap and then emerging in a completely new form. Evolution must show how this process developed through small changes, large changes or any kind of changes over a period of time.
The study of genetics proves that evolution is impossible. It is the claim of evolution that the breeding of animals proves evolution. For example, in developing a miniature horse the breeders choose horses that are small and continue this process over a number of generations until they have the size they want. This does not prove evolution, because in breeding the smaller horse the animals are losing the genetic information for largeness. Evolution requires that as new generations develop they must acquire new genetic information in order to become a new animal. There is no evidence that this ever happened and it does not happen in the breeding of animals. Rather the process results in the new breed having lost genetic material. The small horses have lost the genes for bigness.
The discovery of DNA also proves evolution is impossible. DNA is a code that all living beings have which tells them how to grow, develop the various parts of their bodies, and reproduce themselves. DNA is so extremely complex that it is impossible for it to have developed by chance. So, did God create DNA and use it in a process of evolution to form life as we have it now? The answer is NO! All God needs to do is say "Be created," and it happens. Also, there is no evidence of links between one animal and another. All claims that certain fossils are missing links have been proven to be false.
What is life? This is a question that evolution must answer but cannot. When I swat a fly it dies. The fly is there with all its parts but missing life, and that life cannot be returned to the fly. What has been removed from the fly? Life is a great mystery, but to claim that some chemicals accidentally got together and then became alive is so silly that it would a be a great laughing matter if so many people didn't believe it. To say that life came from some other planet or from somewhere out there in space is just as silly. It proves nothing. God created life. He created all living beings and they all reproduce themselves and do not change into other species of life. The more we learn of God's creation the more we see how beautiful, complex, and grand, it is and we see the enormous number of different living beings with no links between them.
THE LONG AGES:
The Bible record reveals that man lived for long periods of time. To us with our short lives, this seems impossible. But, mankind was created perfect and it took centuries for man to lose the genetic information needed for a long life. This was also true for the animals. The dinosaurs are classified as reptiles, who continue to grow as long as they live. Their large size was due to their long life. Because of ignorance many will say this part of the Bible is not accurate history. If that is true than the rest of the Bible cannot be trusted for truth. The book of Genesis is an accurate history of what actually happened.
This creation of which we are a part reveals the majesty, power, authority, and love of God. Because of sin there are many wrongs in this creation, but someday Jesus will return to make everything right.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him.
