The Contrast Between the First Adam
and the Last Adam
The First Man - Adam - Was Created
God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Is The Creator
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him were all things created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created
through him, and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things are held together. Colossians 1:15-17
The First Man - Adam - Wanted To Become Like God
The serpent said to the woman, "You won't surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit of it, and ate; and she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:4-6
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Became A Man.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children. Galatians 4:4,5
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider it robbery to be equal with God, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in
human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. Philippians 2:6-8
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 1 John 4:2
The First Man - Adam - Believed A Lie.
You are of your Father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn't stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Is the Truth
For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus
Christ. John 1:17
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6
The First Man - Adam - Disobeyed.
To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. Genesis 3:17
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Obeyed.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. John 6:38

The First Man - Adam - Brought Death to the Living.
Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Brought Life to the Dying.
Most assuredly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24
For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:21,22
The First Man - Adam - Was Sent Away.
Yahweh God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he put forth his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever." Therefore Yahweh God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed Cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis 3:22-24
The Last Adam - Jesus Christ - Was Sent to Pay.
No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn't believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. John 3:13-18
For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die. But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22
