INTRODUCTION

These web pages are the result of several years of study and prayer concerning the assemblies we read about in the New Testament. They were vibrant and alive. The believers had a deep love for each other. They sold their possessions to provide for the needs of others. They remained steadfast in the teachings of Jesus, learned to pray with results, rejoiced when persecuted, and were willing to die for their faith. Because of their style of living they were held in high honor by the people. It is imperative that we return to this standard.

It is a great tragedy that today's churches are more interested in attracting new members through entertainment and marketing methods then through the power of the Holy Spirit. Many churches have lowered their moral standards and in many ways they imitate the people of the world. As a result today's typical church is looked down upon as being of little value.

This was not always true, for there is no other religion, persuasion, sect, or society that has as high a value system as New Testament Christianity. Families who apply Biblical teachings to their lives have good relationships between husband and wife, whose children are obedient and well behaved. Companies who follow Bible principles have good labor relations and high productivity. Assemblies who conform to God's methods are known for their service to mankind and for making changes in society for the better. This high value is what we aim for in restoring the New Testament Assembly.

I have received objections to some of the statements in this section. I have restudied what I have written and find that I cannot change them. God has set a standard for the organization and conduct of the assemblies and I have tried very hard to state what those standards are. Many will object to my stand on divorce, but God has set the standard that once married always married until death. Some say that the qualifications of the assembly leaders are too harsh. But God set the standard for the leaders of His assemblies and it behooves us to meet those standards. Assemblies who do not try to do God's will in these matters will have to answer for it in the judgment. I feel a great sadness because of the condition of today's assemblies.

We please our Lord most when we sit at His feet in adoration and worship like Mary did. We can become so busy with service, like Martha, that we do not hear the still small voice of God. God's goal for His people is that they become like Christ. Daily we are to "put on Christ" like we put on our garments, until we become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. The world is in desperate need of more believers willing to become like Christ.

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1,2 WEB
