FINANCIAL POLICIESThe world and everything in it belongs to God. We are stewards of what God has given us and as an expression of this stewardship all members of are expected to return the first ten percent of their income back to God. ASSEMBLY INCOME: Tithing is God's way of financing His work. Therefore all assembly income will come from the tithes and offerings of its members. The assembly will not request its members to sigh a pledge card or dun them for funds. The assembly and any department or group within it will not use any type of fund raising program, or coercion, pleading, or begging to raise money. INDEBTEDNESS: The assembly will NOT go into debt for any reason or purpose. If funds are not available for a project then that project will be reevaluated. If God indicates that we should proceed with the project, we will than wait upon God to supply the funds in a supernatural manner. This will also be the policy of all leaders of the assembly in their personal financial affairs. Philippians 4:19. SPECIAL FUNDS: If funds are raised for some specific need or project or designated gifts are giving for some specific purpose, these funds must be used only for the purpose for which they were given. They may not be used for any other purpose and if they cannot be so used, the funds must be returned to those who gave them. God will not bless us if we are dishonest in using such funds. BUSINESS: Members should not use the meetings of the local assembly for business purposes or to sell items. We encourage housewives to have cottage industries but please do not use the weekly group meetings for selling your products. Opportunities could be provided for business purposes at other times and other places. EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION: All full time employees of the Assembly will receive the same basic salary with adjustments for family size. All employees are servants of God and of one another. Therefore, no one is of a higher position than any other. Some will have greater responsibilities than others, but this does not qualify them for a higher salary. Health insurance will be paid by the assembly and compensation made for business expenses according to the tax laws. Inability to live on an adequate salary will disqualify a person from a leadership position. Also those who do not financially support the assembly will not be considered for any position in the assembly. TITHING RECORDS: A record will be made of the giving of each family for income tax purposes. These will be kept private and not for public use. MISSIONS SUPPORT: Organizations support by the assembly will be those who are based on Biblical principles and are active in developing home group assemblies. HELPING OTHERS: At times the leaders may question if certain people should be helped. The members should do as much as possible to help others. Here is where the life of the assembly goes on. Here is where true healing occurs. But there will be occasions when the need is beyond the ability of one local home group to handle. Therefore the cooperation of all the home groups in an area will be needed to meet that need.
Yet care must be used in helping certain people. The Bible lists six types of people who call themselves "Christian" whom we are not to fellowship with or eat with, therefore we should not help them until they repent and get right with God and the brotherhood. See 1 Corinthians 5:11
Another group of people whom we are not to help or support are those who are lazy. Those unable to work must be helped, but those who are able and do not work should not receive help, financial or otherwise. See 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15.
My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever! Philippians 4:19,20
