MY SOURCE FOR HOPE
(Following is Romans 5:1-8 and 8:22-25 personalized.) (The pronoun "I" refers to you the reader.)
Since I have been justified by faith, I have peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ; through whom I also have access by faith into this grace in which I stand.
I rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only this, but I also rejoice in my sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn't disappoint me, because God's love has been poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit who was given to me.
For while I was yet weak, at the right time, Christ died for me. For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die. But God commends his own love toward me, in that while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me.
For I know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. Not only so, but
I also groan within myself, waiting for adoption, the redemption of my body. For I was saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if I hope
for that which I don't see, I wait for it with patience.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17 WEB)
